Meet Arie Shpanya–CEO of WisePricer.com

WisePricer.com is a full-featured pricing engine that monitors, analyzes and reprices retail products in real-time. With automated repricing and easy sync, this eCommerce tool enables online retailers to beat out their competition with the touch of a button.

WisePricer is an easy-to-use tool that lets you intelligently monitor your product pricing on any of your online stores, compare pricing strategy to your competitors, and enables you to compete wisely by repricing products in real-time.

Explain a little about repricing and how WisePricer helps reprice products.

Arie: If you’re not an online giant with hundreds of resources, and you want to compete properly–you will need to obtain some vital tools in order to gain the upper hand. One of the most important tools to use when selling on various marketplaces is repricing in real-time. At WisePricer.com, we help sellers to track  their competition in real-time and get ahead by monitoring competitor’s prices and repricing  items in real time. WisePricer is a real-time repricing tool for online retailers that optimizes product pricing in order to increase sales and profit. It lets retailer set automatic pricing rules based on competition with instant alerts when pricing becomes uncompetitive.

Is repricing mainly for Marketplace sellers ( eBay, Amazon, etc) or can e-commerce merchants use WisePricer as well?

Arie: Repricing is a popular method used and adopted in multi-channel marketplaces. Repricing is very popular with the Amazon marketplace because of the sensitivity in pricing. We’ve also noticed a shift to eBay and online stores as well, and we work with a variety of sellers that list on multiple-channels. For each channel we enable different set of repricing rules that tailor to fit the specific ‘game rules’ of that market.

Do you have any statistics that show repricing software actually increase profits?

Arie: Our current analytics report shows clients that actively use price monitoring and repricing tools earn between 4%-9% increase in total month-to-month sales. Also, sales velocity is increased by %15 on average.

We recently heard how BlackLocus was acquired by HomeDepot. What do you think of companies selling out early and leaving their clients high and dry?

Arie: There are a lot of companies today with great products and large enterprise-sized clients. These businesses are typically the targets for acquisition and we see a lot of this in the start-up world. I do recall some great products that were discontinued due to companies selling out. Example: Tungle.me- a personal scheduler stopped their service after being  acquired by Blackberry. Users prefer their products/companies to stick around. Regardless of recent acquisitions, I would say companies should build sustainable products that will last even if the company is sold.

Should sellers be weary of using VC funded companies looking to sell out?

Arie: That is always the risk of using products by VC-funded companies. Highly VC funded companies are built in order to eventually sell out, that’s the VC proposition. I would say clients should look for companies with a sustainable product, effective tools, and great customer service.

How is WisePricer similar and different from BlackLocus?

Arie: WisePricer offers vast price optimization solutions for SMB (small medium size) retailers as well as enterprise size retailers. We cover most marketplaces as well as specific sites in various categories.

One of the features WisePricer offers customers is a tool called SpyAgent. Can you tell us a little more about this and the benefits?

Arie: Spyagent monitors all competitors for certain products.  It simply tracks down competitors for a particular product and allows the user to see all of the competitor’s information within one single screen.

How does the StoreSync feature work?

Arie: Wisepricer offers integration for more than 15 shopping carts including Magento, Prestashop, Volusion, Bigcommerce, X-Cart, CS cart, and also dedicate API. This helps our users sync their inventory directly to their WisePricer dashboard giving them automatic tracking of competitors and products.

Does repricing actually help with winning the Amazon buybox? How can WisePricer help to achieve this feat?

Arie: Yes! Real time repricing is responsible for most wins of the buy box. Our users can set smart repricing rules that change their product prices in real-time according to the market trends, stock level, and demand. It’s not always about dropping your price to the lowest. It’s also about maintaining margin levels and tracking down a price opportunity in real-time (i.e: when you’re competitors are out of stock, you can reprice the item and sell it 10% higher that day)

What does the future hold for WisePricer?

Arie: We expect significant growth, which we are currently seeing on a month to month basis. We focus on listening to our clients and working with them in order to build even greater products. We also intend to offer some new additional services to support our seller’s growth and ability to sell more successfully.
